United Methodist Women Meeting

The United Methodist Women will meet on Monday, December 12th, at 1:30 p.m. in the Wesley Room. Box tops for education and Campbell’s labels for education will be assembled for submission to Red Bird Mission. The meeting will also include the pledge service and refreshments will be served. There will be no meetings in January and February. Please note our inclement weather policy: If school is released early or closed due to inclement weather that day, there will be no UMW meeting.

UMCOR Haiti, Chili, Hurricane, Tornado Season

In the response to the need in Haiti, Chili and the upcoming Hurricane and Tornado season, UMCOR has asked that we make the following kits. Please note that all items must be new. HELP US GIVE HOPE

LAYETTE KIT •6 cloth diapers •2 shirts or 2 one-piece body suits •2 baby washcloths •2 gowns or sleepers •2 diaper pins •1 sweater open in the front •2 receiving blankets

BIRTHING KIT •1 hotel-size bar of soap (1 oz. and up) •1 pair of clean latex gloves •1 square yard of clear 4 mil plastic sheeting •3 pieces of clean string each 12” long •1 clean single use razor blade (carefully wrap the blade in paper or plastic to protect it and keep it from causing injury) •2 flannelette receiving blankets, each 1 square yard

HEALTH KITS •1 hand towel (15" x 25" up to 17" x 27", No kitchen towels) •1 washcloth •1 comb (large and sturdy, not pocket-sized) •1 nail file or fingernail clippers (no emery boards or toenail clippers) •1 bath-size bar of soap (3 oz. and up) •1 toothbrush (single brushes only in original wrapper, No child-size brushes) •6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages •$1.00 to purchase toothpaste
